Young Jewish artist. Charlotte Salomon was doing research on the links between drawing, gouaches and words. She threw bridges between drawings and the theater. By her condition of Jewish woman, she will have been forced to movement, to displacement, and had to adapt her way of creating to her life, on the run. Her life as a young woman, the daughter of a suicidal mum and the niece of a suicidal aunt will have impacted her artistic work. Deported and murdered in concentration camps, her work is brief. Her condition as a woman, and Jewish, will have been a bias in her work. This is where it finds its place in Les Palpitantes. When body and art come together …
